For the first time this year, M pour Montréal as a part of its On The Rod missions, will be heading to Ontario, specifically to Toronto, to attend the Departure festival, from may 6th to 11th, 2025! We will host official showcases co-presented by School Night, starring exceptional Canadian artists. It will also be an opportunity for the M pour Montréal team to network, make new connections, and discover new talent!
M for Montreal works year-round to propel Québec and Canadian artists as well as professionals onto the international stage. With a targeted and agile approach, we adapt to market needs and the artists we support by creating concrete export opportunities. Crafted to seal the deal, we put everything in place to help music from here cross borders and reach new audiences.
Through our On the Road initiatives, we showcase talents at major events across North America and Europe, maximizing visibility and growth opportunities. SXSW is one of the key stops in this mission—a strategic hub where artists can build valuable connections and take their careers to the next level.

Since 2005, M for Montreal has been a vital catalyst for emerging artists, propelling them toward national and international careers. This year, we proudly celebrate our 20th edition with a special program set to make history.
Over three days, more than 500 local and international music industry professionals will gather to discover showcases, attend inspiring conferences, and participate in strategic networking activities. Together, let’s celebrate 20 years of shining a spotlight on the music scene and Montreal’s role as a global hub for the music industry.
Since 2010, School Night has been the go-to live music series for fans and industry alike to find their new favorite artists. Created by Chris Douridas and Matt Goldman, the series has proven its tastemaker sensibility by booking some of the greatest artists in the world, alongside breaking new bands, often for their first shows ever.
What began as a weekly Monday night show in the heart of Hollywood at Bardot now also is a monthly showcase in Nashville, Toronto, London, and Sydney!
