M for Montreal today announced its association with Billboard Canada as the official presenting partner of the professional program of its 19th edition, reinforcing its commitment to the export of Quebec and Canadian talent on a global scale. This new multi-year partnership promises to offer major professional opportunities for the national music industry.
“By joining forces with Billboard Canada, we look forward to increasing the influence of the Canadian music industry on a global scale,” says Marie Desjardins, Executive Producer of M for Montreal. “Together, we will strengthen the ties between Quebec, Canada and the international music scene, providing a unique platform for local talent to shine internationally.”
The 2024 edition of the conference-festival, to be held from November 20 to 23, will feature more than 70 events open to professionals, including conferences, showcases and training workshops, as well as over 1,000 personalized networking sessions with national and international delegates, including from France, the USA, the UK and Germany.
A major element of its human-scale boutique format, and a core feature of the conference-festival programming, the Official Selection will spotlight 28 artists selected for their undeniable talent and export potential. In addition, for a third year, M pour Montréal will be hosting the MARATHON public event, presented by Sirius XM, which will enable over 100 artists, including Claudia Bouvette, Kroy, Ziak, Peter Peter, Soleil Launière, Vox Rea, myst milano and many others, to be discovered or rediscovered by the Montreal public.
This collaboration with Billboard Canada opens up new opportunities for artists and their teams, facilitating international visibility. Billboard is an influential music authority, known for its unparalleled music business coverage and famous charts. Through its ownership group PMC, Billboard is also part of a global network that includes other major media outlets including Rolling Stone and Variety.
“This partnership is incredibly meaningful for us,” says Amanda Dorenberg, CEO of Billboard Canada. “Billboard Canada chose to partner with M for Montreal because of their shared commitment to fostering local talent and promoting the music industry both locally and globally. M for Montreal is a cornerstone conference for both the Quebec market and the broader Canadian music scene. We are thrilled to collaborate with them to drive global influence and recognition.”
The full integration of this partnership into the 2024 PRO programming will provide unprecedented opportunities for local talent to shine. Further details will be announced shortly.
