The MARATHON festival presented by SiriusXM and organized by M for Montreal is back for a 3rd edition! Get ready to slip on your running shoes and enjoy an unforgettable experience from November 15 to 18. Over 90 emerging artists will take to the legendary stages of Foufounes Électriques, Club Soda, Théâtre Fairmount and MTELUS, to name just a few of the venues on the phenomenal MARATHON program.
DISCOVER THE FULL 2023 MARATHON LINEUP
Last July, we announced the first names in the lineup for what promises to be an exceptional edition: LaF, VioleTT Pi, Philippe Brach, 36?, Afternoon Bike Ride, HAWA B, Marie Davidson, Nadah El Shazly, Ouri, Robert Robert, Super Plage and zouz.
Today, we unveil all the Canadian indie artists who will be joining us at this unique event for Montreal festival-goers.
It’s a time for discovery, as underground Quebec favourites Geneviève et Matthieu and pop powerhouses Simon Kearney and singer Félix Dyotte rub shoulders with up-and-coming stars Les Lunatiques, Sorry Girls, Grand Eugène, Prince Amine, Ivytide, Vendou and more.
The same goes for English Canada, where Cartel Madras will be gracing us with one of their rare visits to the city as part of a must-attend event on November 18 at La Sala Rossa, with Milk & Bone, dee holt and Virginie B also on the program.
As in its last two iterations, the MARATHON festival will welcome numerous international artists, some of whom will be making their very first appearance on Quebec soil. They come from France (Al-Qasar, Blue Orchid, Suzanne Belaubre), Wales (Bethan Lloyd, Mace The Great), England (Otto Aday), Egypt (Nadah El Shazly), Ivory Coast (Andy S), and the United States (CDSM).
Finally, two debut albums will be launched as part of the event, once again underlining our mission to support emerging projects: Alice, former member of Canailles, will release her EP Du love à revendre at Quai des Brumes on November 18, alongside Ontario’s Billianne, while Tango Golf Tango will launch Dark Tropical Express at Diving Bell Social Club the same evening, alongside Otto Aday.
The Festival pass (only $100!) will give you access to all 34 MARATHON shows running until the early hours of the morning, from November 15 to 18. Individual tickets are now on sale for all shows in the program.

The 2023 edition marks the 3rd official edition of the MARATHON festival as we know it today. This year, the MARATHON festival by M for Montreal features more than 30 shows spread over 4 days, in about 15 venues across the city. It’s a true musical marathon, and an opportunity to discover new talent from the Canadian independent scene. Here’s how you can train for this athletic challenge: plan your itinerary, tie on your running shoes, dress warmly, then listen to our official playlist and the one curated by our partner trèfor club (coming out next week!). See you at the finish line!
