Montreal, September 10th – From November 20 to 23, M pour Montréal organizes a must-attend event where music and industry professionals meet. For the past 19 years, the four-day conference-festival has been distinguished by its Official Selection, featuring 28 French- and English-speaking Canadian artists from the indie-pop, alternative rock, rap and folk genres, as well as its PRO section, now presented by Billboard Canada.
The official showcases of the selected artists will feature performances chosen for their originality and international potential. Meanwhile, the PRO section will provide an opportunity for industry professionals to network and discover new development opportunities.

Offering a unique platform for discovering new talent and fostering exchanges between industry professionals, M for Montreal also provides artists with the opportunity to perform at over 40 concerts and showcases, in front of more than 500 national and international delegates and an audience totalling over 9,000 people.
Artists who apply to be part of the Official Selection are seeking exposure beyond the province and creating professional opportunities with managers, publishers, agents, media, labels and talent buyers from around the world. The event has contributed to the success of many internationally acclaimed artists, including Charlotte Cardin, Mac DeMarco, Men I Trust, The Dears, Half Moon Run and Grimes.

This year’s francophone scene promises some captivating musical finds. Alix Fernz, DVTR and Population II will offer a mix of alternative punk and psychedelic rock, while Velours Velours and Grand Eugène will guarantee convivial moments with their folk and indie-pop. RnB pop artist Naomi and Afrobeat and dancehall specialist Ya Cediton will add a sparkling touch to the line-up.
To conclude the programme, Soleil Launière will be offering a fusion of French, English and Innu-aimun in an immersive post-rock experience. Fans of French-language music are sure to be in for a treat once again this year.
On the anglophone side, Montreal stands out with an eclectic line-up. KROY, Claudia Bouvette, Fleece and Goodbye Karelle will be offering a combination of hypnotic electro, nostalgic indie pop and varied rock. The synth-pop of Tops singer Jane Penny, the dance-punk of ALIAS and the drum & bass pop of Lubalin will add a rhythmic dimension, ideal for those who prefer to be carried away by the dance.
Unessential Oils, the solo project by the singer of Plants and Animals, will be unveiling his soaring universe, while Shaina Hayes will be bringing her subtle touches of country-folk to the stage.
Finally, Canada will also be well represented in 2024. Saskatchewan will be highlighted by Katie Tupper and Grimelda, while Ontario will be showcasing Charlie Houston, Housewife and myst milano. Manitoba will shine with Begonia and Living Hour. Alberta’s Wyatt C. Louis and Astral Swans, and British Columbia completes the line-up with the duo Vox Rea and the singer Nikkaela.

By exploring the various venues, exclusive artist showcases, networking dinners and other activities offered by M for Montreal, each professional will benefit from a tailor-made experience, specially designed to foster connections.
Newly presented with Billboard Canada, a global reference platform, this PRO collaboration opens new opportunities for artists and their teams, facilitating international visibility. Since last fall, the Billboard Professional Group has included numerous media outlets, including Rolling Stone and Variety, in addition to their historical tools and charts.
As part of the boutique event, the PRO section is back with its three classic activities: M for mixer, with over 1,000 speed-meeting sessions tailored to specific objectives. Following on from the great success of the last edition, SuperVISION: Guild of Music Supervisors is back with strenght, bringing together more than 30 Canadian and international supervisors from the music, audiovisual, film, television, advertising and video game industries to discuss topical industry issues. And of course, the programme includes a series of varied and inspiring conferences.
This year, more than 10 panelists from here and abroad will be sharing their expertise and exploring these topics in greater depth, on the themes of transforming data to improve musical discoveries and target audiences, the role of accessibility in live music in Canada, and strengthening transparent and strategic alliances between Canada, the United States and Mexico.
A genuine window on professional opportunities, the PRO component activities offered as part of M for Montreal also include the must-see bus tour of the city, exclusive artist showcases for delegates, and workshop sessions sponsored by top music companies such as Chartmetric and YouTube.

The MARATHON festival presented by SiriusXM, open to all, invites you to discover the open to public side of M pour Montréal. It’s the perfect opportunity to see some of the artists in the Official Selection take to the stage, as well as a host of local and international talent, at evenings presented by M pour Montréal and its programming partners.
Now in its fourth year, the festival continues to expand. New to the program: a promising evening of pop at Club Soda on November 21 with Charlie Houston, Lubalin and Goodbye Karelle.
And don’t miss KROY, Fleece, Soleil Launière and Vox Rea on November 20 at Les Foufounes Électriques, as well as Claudia Bouvette, who will be launching her new album as part of the evening, alongside Naomi and myst milano. on November 22, also at Club Soda.
