Call for artists M for Montreal 2026 – Everything you need to know

 

 

Take part in the 2026 edition of M for Montreal

After a landmark 20th edition celebrating two decades of discoveries and meaningful connections, and reaffirming its role as a key player in spotlighting music through its Official Selection, musical programming, and a thriving Pro Division, M for Montreal is launching its 21st edition, taking place from November 18 to 21.

Artists and their teams wishing to take part in the festival are invited to respond to our call for applications starting now, until April 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (UTC−5).

International artists are also invited to submit their projects using this same form.

Please note that the application fees are $45 CAD (taxes included).

How to apply?

To be eligible, artists must include the following in their application:

  • a short biography
  • listening and viewing links
  • recent photos

But above all, what matters most:

  • vision
  • artistic proposal
  • potential for reach and visibility!

For the Official Selection, M for Montreal prioritizes artists who are ready to take the next step in developing their careers, both nationally and internationally.

  • having a team in place
  • having released a project within the past 24 months
  • having completed a tour and/or live performances are considered significant assets for selection, though they are not mandatory.

What is the Official Selection?

The Official Selection of M for Montreal offers a unique platform showcasing emerging and established Canadian artists while fostering connections between music industry professionals.

Selected artists perform in non-competitive concerts and showcases in front of more than 500 national and international delegates.

The goal is to discover and promote artists with export potential and to create professional opportunities with key industry players such as agents, media representatives, labels, and programmers from around the world.

M for Montreal has served as a launching pad for many artists now internationally recognized, including Charlotte Cardin, Men I Trust, Mac DeMarco, and Grimes.

What’s next?

Once the form has been submitted, the person responsible for the application will receive an automatic confirmation email.

All applications will then be carefully reviewed by the M for Montreal programming team. The status of each application will be communicated by email by August 2026.
