PROGRAM:
Edwin Raphael
(Indie Folk Alternative)
Friday October 2nd
Lucky Bar
6:30Â PM
How do you anchor yourself when occupying multiple geographic identities at once? Â For Edwin Raphael, the Montreal-based songwriter with roots in Kerala, India, it requires an intentional and intensive form of world-building. By developing an unmistakable style of folk that merges Eastern scales with the Western pop canon, Raphael reimagines his music as an exploratory tool that allows him to construct an interior and sacred home to retreat into.

Fine Food Market
(Folk dream-pop)
Vendredi 2 octobre
Lucky Bar
7:30Â PM
Fine Food Market is the folk dream-pop project of Montréal-based multidisciplinary artist Sophie Perras. Drawing from her training as a classical pianist and inspired by the sound of her beloved PSR3000 keyboard, the songs of Fine Food Market are intuitive, emotional and fun.
Sophie began writing at an early age with her brother Alexandre Perras (Microwave Tower); to escape an agitated home life they took refuge in music. Later, while living above a grocery store, she sent her brother location-enabled cell phone demos automatically labeled Fine Food Market.
