M for Montreal will be in New York on the 5th of\u00a0March<\/strong>\u00a0for The New Colossus Festival<\/a>. As part of this event, M pour Montr\u00e9al will present 6 M for Montreal will be in New York on the 5th of\u00a0March\u00a0for The New Colossus Festival. As part of this event, M pour Montr\u00e9al will present 6 showcases of Canadian artists, preceded by an industry cocktail, the Lower-East Slide<\/em>. An opportunity not only to meet members of the Canadian industry, but also to discover a program of 6 artists from the same country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The evening presented in collaboration with the D\u00e9l\u00e9gation Qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise in collaboration with FACTOR<\/a>, SODEC<\/a>, DROM<\/a> and Marauder<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Members of the local and Canadian industry are invited to join this pre-showcase industry cocktail. <\/strong>All members of the industry are invited to join the Canadien delegation\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0slide through <\/strong>this unique event taking place in New York’s Lower East Side, at<\/strong> DROM<\/strong>, organized by M for Montreal. Get ready for an experience full of musical discoveries<\/strong>, and treat your taste buds to a little taste of Montreal<\/strong>: poutines, pickles and drinks will be served all for free during the cocktail.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Local and Canadian industry members are invited to join this pre-showcase industry cocktail party, where Amery’s first showcase will kick off at 6:30 pm.<\/p>\n

Amery\u2019s soundworld is informed by friendship, experience and by her day job as a renowned illustrator\u00a0<\/strong>and visual artist. Beginning Alpen Glow in a spirit of fun and now shedding the alias, Amery\u2019s ready to hotwire the nite.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Diamond Day<\/strong> (7:15pm)<\/p>\n

Montr\u00e9al’s Diamond Day reimagine shoegaze in a hazy electro dreamworld.<\/strong>\u00a0B\u00e9atrix M\u00e9th\u00e9 (Rosier) and Quinn Bachand, who first met on the folk music scene, have successfully combined traditional sounds and electronic experimentation on their debut album, ‘Connect the Dots.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Laughing<\/strong> (8pm)<\/p>\n

What’s so funny about peace, love, and understanding? Laughing are Montreal-based rock n’ rollers who take cues from some of the greatest pop songwriters of the past five decades.\u00a0<\/strong>Four unique voices from across the Canadian expanse. Cross-stitched material and temporary ego sublimation serve them well in their pursuit of the holy grail: a perfect song.<\/p>\n

\u2022 FUUDGE<\/strong> (8:45pm)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Pressure Pin<\/strong> (9:30pm)<\/p>\n

From the deepest recesses of Montr\u00e9al, a burgeoning art punk act by the moniker of Pressure Pin has materialized.\u00a0<\/strong>Originally the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Kenny Smith, also the drummer of La S\u00e9curit\u00e9, Pressure Pin has since expanded to a full-band operation.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Truck Violence<\/strong>\u00a0(10:15pm)<\/p>\n

Truck Violence\u00a0is a medley that wails its way through the bitters of modern Western Canadian hardcore and folk<\/strong>, an honesty and shamelessness in disappointment that is both a comfort and a stern regard.<\/p>\n
