What is M for Montreal

M for Montreal is an essential catalyst for the Quebec and Canadian music industry, both for emerging artists and artists with a career outside Quebec. The event features a series of conferences that bring together local and international music industry professionals. It offers a rich musical program of more than one hundred artists at its annual gathering in November, in Montreal.

HISTORY

PRESENT AND PAST

In 2006, Sébastien Nasra (Avalanche Productions) set up M for Montreal thanks to the support of Martin Elbourne (Glastonbury, The Great Escape, WOMAD). Their goal: to help Quebec artists launch their careers internationally. Today, having become a must in the Montreal landscape, M for Montreal has been able to welcome and make discover through the years Mac Demarco, Grimes, Men I Trust, Charlotte Cardin, Jazz Cartier, The Dears, The Stills, Fucked Up, SUUNS, Half Moon Run and Patrick Watson in particular.

M for Mission

Through an annual and international circuit of events and meetings, M for Montreal is a catalyser of real business opportunities between artists and industry professionals. It contributes to the promotion and export of the selected artists, as well as positioning Montreal as an essential city on the music scene.
